Memento mori | memento vivere - Opening Reception on March 10, 2024
Well above 100 people attended the opening reception on Sunday and enjoyed an Ikebana demonstration by one of the Japanese artists, followed by an introduction to the show by our curator Trisha Lagaso Goldberg. Memento Mori | Memento Vivere, which translates as remember that you must die | remember that you must live. In short -
“The artworks…reflect the full cycle of life and are as varied and complex as the natural world around us. The exhibition is designed to highlight the intrinsic way of things—from fragile beginnings, to the peaks and valleys of mid-life, and late-life decline that may be tragic and magical in equal measures.”
